Guest Reviews: See What They Loved

"We stayed here for a week. In our experience, expectations are often not met when it comes to accommodation, due to some degree of false advertising, outdated pictures, or some other let-down (intentional or not). So this time I had my expectations set low for Stockyards, thinking that the view would surely not be as good as the pictures shown here. I was wrong! Walking into the main living room was breathtaking. Coming from a farming background, I loved the stockyards which were immediately in view, before the lake in the distance. I wish I had photos - the main bedroom was also amazing! Very large shower and bathroom. Large walk in - perfect space for us to get ready for a wedding. Dark curtains so that you could sleep until midday. The place was clean, warm, and comfortable. The rooms downstairs were smaller, but this house is about the social area upstairs where everyone can relax and mingle. Loved the convenience of having a code for the front door, rather than using keys. It had everything we needed. It was large enough for 6 people. The double garage was great - easily fitting two cars, with an automatic roller door. The location also felt private, with the illusion of seclusion due to the fantastic view of the lake. The perfect house for a group/family get away. I would certainly come back here. Not far to walk to the shops, but expect to get some exercise walking back up the hill. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

"We had a WONDERFUL stay at Stockyards2. The weather wasn't the greatest but the 6 of us were warm and oh-so-comfy indoors and given various ailments(recent hip and knee replacements for 2) were more than happy to watch the weather sweeping in and out over the sensational uninterruped lake view while lolling on the comfy sofas, chatting, reading and declaring the sun over the yardarm at about 5pm. We ate in every night - the well-equipped kitchen had everything needed to cook a roast dinner - and we used the BBQ on other nights. We all retired happily to extra comfy king beds (the 2 downstairs bedrooms have the same magnificent view, which perhaps isn't highlighted) and slept soundly in the cool mountain air. Thanks so much Michelle for being such a wonderful host. We appreciated all the thoughtful things you provided - laundry detergent, clingwrap, alfoil, oil, sugar and the pantry full of bits and pieces that most people would forget to bring. Folks - enjoy this place. It's fabulous!"

"Would recommend. Great location with a view that makes you think there is nothing between you and the lake. Quiet location with a short walk over the hill to the shops and restaurants. Well appointed, furnished and very comfortable and a great base to explore the Snowy Mountain region."

"Stockyards is a truly magnificent place. Views, very well appointed, clean, and cosy. To be honest we didn't want for a thing. A 10 min walk to Jindabyne town centre, or 2 mins on the bike. Great walks abound, with sailing & fishing available on lake and creeks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will visit again. Thanks Michelle."
