Discover the Beauty of Jindabyne
Located on the road to Kosciuszko National Park and perched on the edge of a meandering lake, Jindabyne makes a great base for exploring the beautiful Snowy Mountains region.
It is particularly popular in winter due to its proximity to the ski resorts; approximately a 35 minute drive into the Kosciuszko National Park to either Thredbo or Perisher.
Jindabyne is also popular for summer holidays with Lake Jindabyne offering activities such as fishing, water skiing and wakeboarding, sailing, kayaking and swimming. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants, bars, retail and souvenir shops, a cinema, indoor swimming pool and a major supermarket.
Other activities to enjoy are tennis, camping, horse-riding, picnicing, bushwalking or just simply relax and watch the ever changing scenery of Lake Jindabyne.

Jindabyne is one of the highest settlements of its size in Australia, at 918 metres above sea level. Light snowfalls sometimes occur during winter. Originally situated on land that is now part of Lake Jindabyne, the township was transferred to its present location in the 1960s due to the damming of the Snowy River as part of the Snowy Mountains Scheme.
It is Jindabyne’s ability to provide the best of both worlds that makes it unique, offering the pick of snow conditions from two of Australia’s best ski resorts.
